The viewing deposit is required because it helps us ensure that a location is seriously being considered before they make themselves available. This keeps locations happy and lowers burn rates, so they are open to future productions.
In order to avoid extra viewing fees, we suggest using Set Scouter’s messaging platform to ask lots of questions and request additional photos of the location. This should help quickly determine which spaces are a good fit and avoid booking viewings for locations that cannot accommodate your production.
We understand that viewing deposits can add up, which is why the viewing deposit is always discounted on the space that you book. The viewing deposits for spaces that are not booked are non-refundable and are credited to your account. They will be discounted if you choose to book that space in the future shoot.
